Meet the founder
Stephen Harpin is the founder and Chief Executive of the company. A retail expert, he has founded and profitably sold three speciality on and off-line businesses over the last seven years. Prior to these start ups, he was a retail and internet strategy consultant at Accenture, and established a global venture capital firm investing in internet businesses. He managed SmithKline Beechams Macleans business in the UK and European Mouthwash business, and worked in brand management at Procter and Gamble. Stephen was a Seaman Officer in the Royal Navy. He is the author of Kick-Starter.com the definitive European internet start up guide. His most recent start up successes include:
  1. Replicating a US eCommerce retailers success in the UK. Stephen licenced the largest US homecare internet pure play's brand name and technology (www.1800wheelchair.com), and launched the business in the UK (www.1800wheelchair.co.uk). This business has replicated US success, achieved profitability within 6 months, and is realising consistent and rapid month on month growth ahead of its seven figure sales targets.
  2. Working with UK brand owners to develop a market leading business within 12 months. Stephen licenced Help The Aged brand name and used it to establish a leading mobility products retailer. Pooling the well known brand and access to 1.1m old people across the UK, with an ability to source, merchandise and market products on-line (www.helptheagedshop.co.uk). This business has generated a substantial income stream for Help the Aged's charitable activities.
  3. Set up an £8m specialist UK retail businesses. Stephen established the UK 's leading age related healthcare retail business. This 28 store, multi-channel retailer was created by integrating 5 minor acquisitions, over three years. It was successfully sold to a leading UK based medical wholesaler in 2006.

Our business model is replicating a US business strategy. Whilst the UK market is 4 times smaller that the US, we believe that the strategy can be tailored to our market and we have the expertise to replicate their success.
